कुद्दालं दात्रपिटकं प्रकीर्ण कांस्यभाजनम् | द्रव्योपकरणं सर्व नान्ववैक्षत् कुटुम्बिनी
kuddālaṃ dātrapīṭakaṃ prakīrṇaṃ kāṃsyabhājanam | dravyopakaraṇaṃ sarvaṃ nānvavaikṣat kuṭumbinī ||
Śakra dit : «La maîtresse de maison ne veille nullement sur les biens du foyer : bêche, faucille, panier, vases de bronze épars, et le reste des outils et possessions de la famille, jetés çà et là.»
शक्र उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical importance of attentiveness and stewardship in household life: neglect of one’s responsibilities leads to disorder and loss of well-being, whereas dharma in the gṛhastha setting includes careful management of shared resources.
Śakra describes a scene of domestic disorder: tools and utensils are scattered, and the housewife is not supervising or maintaining the household goods, illustrating a lapse in proper household conduct.
