बलीन्द्रसंवादः — Kāla, Anityatā, and the Limits of Agency
Mahābhārata 12.217
एवमेकायन धर्ममाहुर्वेदविदो जना: । यथाज्ञानमुपासन्त: सर्वे यान्ति परां गतिम्
evam ekāyana-dharmam āhur veda-vido janāḥ | yathā-jñānam upāsantaḥ sarve yānti parāṃ gatim ||
Ainsi ceux qui connaissent le Veda exposent-ils le dharma de la «voie unique» — la discipline qui mène à l’unique but suprême. En pratiquant le culte et la contemplation selon la mesure de leur propre compréhension, tous les chercheurs atteignent l’état souverain.
भीष्म उवाच
Bhishma teaches that the Veda-knowers affirm an ‘ekāyana’ (single-aim) dharma: sincere spiritual practice, even when shaped by differing levels of understanding, can lead all aspirants to the supreme goal.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on dharma and liberation, Bhishma continues his counsel by citing the testimony of Vedic authorities: diverse modes of upāsanā, when aligned to one’s capacity and knowledge, culminate in the highest attainment.
