Ālasyadoṣa-nirdeśa (On the Fault of Negligence) — The Camel’s Long-Neck Exemplum
एवमस्त्विति चोक्त: स वरदेन महात्मना । प्रतिलभ्य वरं श्रेष्ठ ययावुष्ट: स्वकं वनम्,वरदायक महात्मा ब्रह्माजीने 'एवमस्तु” कहकर उसे मुँहमाँगा वर दे दिया। वह उत्तम वर पाकर ऊँट अपने वनमें चला गया
evam astv iti coktaḥ sa varadena mahātmanā | pratilabhya varaṃ śreṣṭhaṃ yayāvuṣṭaḥ svakaṃ vanam ||
Ainsi interpellé, le grand dispensateur de grâces dit : «Qu’il en soit ainsi.» Le chameau reçut l’excellent don qu’il avait demandé, puis s’en alla vers sa propre forêt. L’épisode souligne le poids moral d’une grâce accordée : une fois octroyée par un donateur puissant et juste, elle devient une réalité contraignante, qui façonne la voie et la responsabilité de celui qui la reçoit.
