Kārttikeya-Abhiṣecana: Mātṛgaṇa-Nāma Saṃkīrtana and Skanda’s Commission

जगहुस्ते तदा राजन्‌ सर्व एव दिवौकस: । आभिषेचनिकं भाण्डं मड़लानि च सर्वश:

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

jaguḥ te tadā rājan sarva eva divaukasaḥ |

ābhiṣecanikaṁ bhāṇḍaṁ maṅgalāni ca sarvaśaḥ ||

rudrair vasubhir ādityair aśvibhyāṁ ca vṛtaḥ prabhuḥ |

Vaiśampāyana dit : Ô roi, en ce temps-là tous les dieux du ciel élevèrent leurs voix en acclamation. Ils tenaient en leurs mains les vases de la consécration et toutes sortes d’objets de bon augure. Entouré des Rudra, des Vasu, des Āditya et des deux Aśvin, le Seigneur puissant se tenait ceint—image d’un ordre divin où l’autorité légitime s’affirme par un rite sacré et public plutôt que par la seule force.
