Jarā’s Account and the Enthronement of Jarāsandha (जरासंधोत्पत्तिः अभिषेकश्च)
यथासमयमाज्ञाय तदा स नृपसत्तम: | द्वाभ्यामेक॑ फलं प्रादात् पत्नीभ्यां भरतर्षभ,भरतश्रेष्ठ) उन उत्तम नरेशने उचित कालका विचार करके दोनों पत्नियोंके लिये वह एक फल दे दिया
yathāsamayam ājñāya tadā sa nṛpasattamaḥ | dvābhyām ekaṁ phalaṁ prādāt patnībhyāṁ bharatarṣabha ||
Ayant discerné le moment et la circonstance convenables, le meilleur des rois donna alors un seul fruit à ses deux reines, ô taureau parmi les Bharata.
श्रीकृष्ण उवाच
The verse highlights practical dharma: acting with situational awareness (yathāsamayam) and attempting fairness in family obligations, even when resources are limited.
A king, after considering the appropriate moment and circumstances, distributes a single fruit meant as a significant object/boon by giving it to his two queens—showing his effort to accommodate both.
