संस्मरन्तो विमनसो व्यपयाता नराधिप । तब हमलोग भी पहले की हुई गुप्त मन्त्रणाको स्मरण करके उदास हो गये। महाराज! फिर तो हम मथुरासे भाग खड़े हुए
saṃsmaranto vimanaso vyapayātā narādhipa | tataḥ vayaṃloka api pūrvakṛtāṃ guptamantraṇāṃ saṃsmṛtya udāsīnā abhavāma | mahārāja! tataḥ vayaṃ mathurāto palāyitvā gatāḥ |
Ô roi, en rappelant ces événements, nous fûmes accablés et nous nous retirâmes. En nous souvenant du conseil secret tenu auparavant, nous tombâmes nous aussi dans l’abattement. Alors, ô Mahārāja, nous prîmes la fuite hors de Mathurā et nous nous éloignâmes—choisissant le retrait plutôt qu’une voie qui eût mené à un mal plus grand.
