As a colophon, the verse primarily teaches how the epic frames events: individual killings and episodes are nested within larger vows, strategies, and duties. It reminds the reader that war narratives are recorded with accountability—each act belongs to a broader chain of causes and consequences within dharma and adharma.
This is the formal closing statement for the chapter: it announces that the ninety-third chapter—about the killing of an Ambaṣṭha—has ended, and it locates that chapter within Droṇa Parva and within the sub-section focused on Jayadratha’s death.
