म्लेच्छानशातयत् सर्वान् समेतानस्त्रतेजसा । बाणोंद्वारा उस विशाल सेनापर बादलोंकी छाया-सी करके अर्जुनने अपने अस्त्रके तेजसे मुण्डित, अर्धमुण्डित, जटाधारी, अपवित्र तथा दाढ़ीभरे मुखवाले उन समस्त म्लेच्छोंका, जो वहाँ एकत्र थे, संहार कर डाला

Sañjaya dit : Par la puissance flamboyante de ses armes, Arjuna abattit tous les guerriers mleccha rassemblés en ce lieu. Déversant une pluie de flèches si serrée qu’elle semblait jeter, sur cette immense armée, une ombre pareille à celle des nuages, il anéantit ces combattants tenus pour impurs—rasés, à demi rasés, aux cheveux en nattes emmêlées et aux visages barbus—peignant ainsi la nécessité sombre et moralement lourde du carnage dans la mêlée de la guerre.
