Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 53: Arjuna’s Jayadratha-vadha Pratijñā and Droṇa’s Protective Vyūha

Educational Q&A

Even when destruction has occurred, the ethical priority is to restrain divine or human wrath and restore composure; the highest ‘boon’ sought is the cessation of anger, which prevents further harm and re-establishes dharmic balance.

Nārada addresses a powerful divine figure after a catastrophic burning that has reduced the world of all immobile and mobile beings to ashes. He petitions the Lord to become calm and asks specifically that the Lord’s anger subside.
