Excellence in dharma and character is portrayed as transmissible through association and lineage: Abhimanyu embodies a concentrated ‘sum’ of virtues admired in Kṛṣṇa and the Pāṇḍavas, suggesting an ethical ideal where courage, discipline, and righteousness converge in a single exemplar.
In the Drona Parva’s battle context, Sañjaya describes Abhimanyu to Dhṛtarāṣṭra with high praise, emphasizing that Abhimanyu appears to carry within himself the combined noble qualities of Kṛṣṇa and the Pāṇḍavas—setting the tone for his remarkable role amid the unfolding combat.
