Drona Parva, Chapter 18: Arjuna’s astra-deployment against the Saṃśaptakas
ते किरीटिनमायान्तं दृष्टवा हर्षेण मारिष । उदक्रोशन् नरव्याप्रा: शब्देन महता तदा
te kirīṭinam āyāntaṃ dṛṣṭvā harṣeṇa māriṣa | udakrośan naravyāghrāḥ śabdena mahatā tadā ||
Sañjaya dit : «Ô vénérable seigneur, lorsque ces guerriers, tigres parmi les hommes, virent s’avancer le héros au diadème, ils furent saisis de joie et poussèrent alors un immense cri.»
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how the presence of a recognized leader-hero can uplift collective morale: courage and confidence spread through a group when they perceive capable guidance and strength, especially in moments of crisis.
Sanjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that, upon seeing the diademed warrior (Kirīṭin, commonly Arjuna) coming toward them, the assembled warriors rejoiced and raised a loud battle-cry.
