तथा ते राक्षसा: सर्वे भीमसेनमुपाद्रवन् । नानाप्रहरणा भीमास्त्वत्सुतानां जयैषिण:,आपके पुत्रोंकी विजय चाहनेवाले वे समस्त भयंकर राक्षस हाथोंमें नाना प्रकारके अस्त्र-शस्त्र लेकर भीमसेनपर टूट पड़े
tathā te rākṣasāḥ sarve bhīmasenam upādravan | nānā-praharaṇā bhīmās tvat-sutānāṁ jayaiṣiṇaḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : «Alors tous ces rākṣasas farouches, munis d’armes de toutes sortes, se ruèrent sur Bhīmasena, poussés par le désir d’assurer la victoire à tes fils. Dans la frénésie de la guerre, la fidélité à son camp se durcit aisément en une violence sans merci.»
