भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ९६: सौभद्रस्य आक्रमणम्, अलम्बुसस्य प्रतिविधानम्
Abhimanyu’s assault; Alambusa’s counter-engagement
अथैनं शरवर्षेण समन्तात् पर्यवाकिरन् । पर्वतं वारिधाराभि: शरदीव बलाहका:
athainaṁ śaravarṣeṇa samantāt paryavākiran | parvataṁ vāridhārābhiḥ śaradīva balāhakāḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Alors, de toutes parts, ils le criblèrent d’une pluie de flèches, le couvrant tout autour—comme les nuées d’automne détrempent une montagne en nappes d’eau ruisselante. Le vers souligne la force impersonnelle et accablante de la guerre, où l’adresse et la résolution sont éprouvées au milieu d’une violence sans répit.
