Vajradatta Confronts Dhanaṃjaya at Prāgjyotiṣa
तमूचु: पुरुषव्याप्रं संशप्तकनिषूदनम् । तवास्म किंकरा: सर्वे सर्वे वै वशगास्तव
tam ūcuḥ puruṣavyāghraṃ saṃśaptakaniṣūdanam | tavāsma kiṃkarāḥ sarve sarve vai vaśagās tava ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Alors ils s’adressèrent à Arjuna—tigre parmi les hommes, tueur des Saṃśaptakas—en disant : «Nous sommes tous tes serviteurs ; en vérité, chacun de nous est sous ton commandement et te restera obéissant.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
True authority in dharma is shown when others offer willing service out of trust and recognition of virtue. The verse highlights allegiance grounded in respect for righteous strength, not mere fear.
