Vajradatta Confronts Dhanaṃjaya at Prāgjyotiṣa
The verse highlights the dharma of service and disciplined readiness: attendants present themselves with humility, awaiting rightful command, and commit to fulfilling what benefits and pleases their leader—an ethic of loyal, orderly action rather than self-willed conduct.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a group of attendants stands before Arjuna (addressed as Pārtha and Kauravanandana), declaring that they are stationed and ready to be dispatched, and asking him to issue instructions so they may carry out his desired tasks.
