True dharma includes honoring the worthy through proper hospitality (pādya, arghya), seeking reconciliation by pleasing the righteous, and restoring what is due; power is shown not by force but by reverence and ethical restitution.
The Nāgas, after pacifying a brāhmaṇa, perform formal acts of respect by offering pādya and arghya, and they return the two divine earrings that are described as highly revered.
