Alors le sage Uttaṅka, illustre et puissant, honoré par les Nāgas, fit la circumambulation d’Agni en signe de révérence, puis se mit en route vers l’ermitage de son maître.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse models dhārmic etiquette: acknowledge help received (from the Nāgas), honor the sacred (Agni) through pradakṣiṇā, and return to one’s guru—affirming gratitude, reverence, and fidelity to the teacher-disciple bond.
After being respectfully received by the Nāgas, the sage Uttaṅka circumambulates Agni and then departs for his teacher’s hermitage, marking the conclusion of this segment of the Uttanka-upākhyāna.
