तस्य तै: कारणैर्जन्तो: शरीरं च्यवते तदा । जीवितं प्रोच्यमानं तद् यथावदुपधारय,इन्हीं सब कारणोंसे जीवका शरीर नष्ट हो जाता है। इस प्रकार जो जीवका जीवन बताया जाता है, उसे अच्छी तरह समझ लो
tasya taiḥ kāraṇair jantoḥ śarīraṁ cyavate tadā | jīvitaṁ procyamānaṁ tad yathāvad upadhāraya ||
Par ces mêmes causes, le corps de l’être incarné s’effondre alors et se défait. Aussi saisis avec justesse et dans l’ordre ce qui est enseigné ici comme le principe nommé « vie » (jīvita) de l’être vivant, afin de comprendre comment l’on parle de la vie lorsque le corps périt.
सिद्ध उवाच
The verse stresses that the body’s dissolution occurs due to specific causes previously discussed, and it urges the listener to understand precisely what is meant by ‘life’ (jīvita) in this teaching—distinguishing the principle being explained from the mere physical body that perishes.
A Siddha is instructing the listener in a reflective, doctrinal manner: after listing certain causal factors (in the surrounding context), he concludes that these causes lead to the body’s falling away and calls for careful comprehension of the explanation of ‘life’ being presented.
