गुरुशुश्रूषया शूरा: पितृशुश्रूषयापरे | मातृशुश्रूषया शूरा भैक्ष्यशूरास्तथापरे
bhīṣma uvāca |
guruśuśrūṣayā śūrāḥ pitṛśuśrūṣayāpare |
mātṛśuśrūṣayā śūrā bhaiṣyaśūrās tathāpare ||
Bhishma dit : «Certains sont appelés héros pour leur service dévoué au maître ; d’autres pour servir leur père. Certains manifestent leur vaillance en servant leur mère, et d’autres encore sont des “héros” en vivant d’aumônes. Ainsi, l’héroïsme ne se voit pas seulement sur le champ de bataille, mais aussi dans une conduite disciplinée, faite de devoir et de maîtrise de soi.»
