The colophon signals that the chapter’s instruction belongs to dāna-dharma (the ethics of giving) and is framed through praise of the Brāhmaṇa ideal—implying that generosity, disciplined conduct, and reverence for learning and virtue are central ethical values being upheld.
This line is a concluding colophon: it announces the completion of the thirty-sixth chapter, identifying its placement (within Anuśāsana Parva, in the Dāna-dharma section) and its subject matter (a dialogue between Indra and Śaṅbarāyu) delivered in the broader frame of Bhīṣma’s instruction.
