Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities

Educational Q&A

Recognizing the Gaṅgā as sacred and guiding others to her darśana is itself meritorious; her dawn-bath is praised as purifying and as supporting the three legitimate aims of worldly life—dharma, artha, and kāma—thus linking devotion and ethical living with ritual purity.

A Siddha extols the greatness of the Gaṅgā (Bhāgīrathī), describing her heavenly descent, her sin-destroying waters, and the spiritual and worldly benefits gained by showing her to others and bathing in her at dawn.
