Educational Q&A

Reverent refuge in a sacred, dharma-protecting power—here, Gaṅgā—yields spiritual merit and an auspicious posthumous destiny. The verse frames Gaṅgā not merely as water but as a cosmic guardian whose sanctity benefits those who seek her shelter.

A Siddha is praising Gaṅgā’s extraordinary sanctity and cosmic reach (across the three worlds) and declares the fruit of devotion/refuge in her: attainment of heaven.
