प्रथमो होष देवानां मुखादग्निमजीजनत् । ग्रहैर्बहुविधै: प्राणान् संरुद्धानुत्सूजत्यपि
prathamo hi sa devānāṁ mukhād agnim ajījanat | grahair bahuvidhaiḥ prāṇān saṁruddhān utsṛjati api ||
Vāyu-deva dit : «Il est le premier parmi les dieux ; de sa propre bouche il fit naître le Feu (Agni). Même les êtres dont le souffle vital est entravé par maintes afflictions dues aux astres, il les délivre et leur accorde le soulagement de la souffrance.»
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights a deity’s supreme, beneficent power: he is both a cosmic creator (bringing forth Agni) and a compassionate protector who frees afflicted beings from suffering, restoring their prāṇa and well-being.
Vāyu-deva is praising or describing a foremost divine figure, stating that this god produced Agni from his mouth and also liberates living beings whose life-force is oppressed by various graha-related afflictions.
