कल्मषापहर-कीर्तनम् / Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity
नोद्वेजयति भूतानि न विधातयते तथा । हस्तपादै: सुनियतैरविश्वास्य: सर्वजन्तुषु
nodvejayati bhūtāni na vidhātayate tathā | hastapādaiḥ suniyatair aviśvāsyaḥ sarvajantuṣu ||
Maheshvara dit : «Il n’agite pas les êtres vivants et ne les abat pas. Les mains et les pieds bien maîtrisés, il devient un homme en qui toutes les créatures peuvent avoir confiance. Un tel être—doux dans sa conduite, inoffensif dans ses actes et ferme dans la compassion—obtient un corps divin au ciel et y demeure avec joie comme les dieux.»
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
The verse teaches ahiṃsā supported by self-restraint: a virtuous person controls body and senses so as not to frighten or harm any being, thereby becoming universally trusted and attaining heavenly reward.
Śrī Maheśvara is describing the marks and fruit of a compassionate, non-violent person—one whose disciplined conduct makes him harmless and trusted by all creatures, leading to divine enjoyment in Svarga.
