Duties of Elders and Juniors
Anuśāsana-parva 108
Maintain ritual and social propriety: perform acts of reverence (to Brahmins, deities, and elders) after bathing; avoid going uninvited, with the limited exception of attending a yajña as a mere observer; and do not go where one will not be respected, as such association is said to be life-diminishing.
In the Anuśāsana Parva, Bhīṣma continues his instruction to the Kuru king on dharma and right conduct, giving practical rules of daily etiquette—when to offer worship and salutations, when it is appropriate to visit, and what kinds of places should be avoided.
