शिर:स्नातो<थ कुर्वीत दैवं पित्रमथापि च
śiraḥ-snātaḥ atha kurvīta daivaṁ pitṛm athāpi ca, bhārata!
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô Bhārata, après s’être lavé la tête, il faut accomplir les rites pour les dieux et aussi les rites pour les ancêtres.» (Dans cette discipline rituelle, il est encore précisé des restrictions : le śrāddha est interdit au nakṣatra de sa naissance, aux deux Pūrvabhādrapadā et Uttarabhādrapadā, ainsi qu’à Kṛttikā.)
