Adhyaya 84: शिवव्रतकथनम्

Uma–Maheshvara Vrata, Shula-dana, and Month-wise Ekabhakta Vrata

मार्गशीर्षकमासादिकार्तिकान्तं प्रवर्तितम् नरनार्यादिजन्तूनां हिताय मुनिसत्तमाः

mārgaśīrṣakamāsādikārtikāntaṃ pravartitam naranāryādijantūnāṃ hitāya munisattamāḥ

Ô meilleurs des sages, les observances qui commencent au mois de Mārgaśīrṣa et se prolongent jusqu’à la fin de Kārtika ont été instituées pour le bien de tous les êtres—hommes, femmes et autres créatures—afin que les paśu (âmes liées) soient conduits vers la grâce de Śiva en tant que Pati et vers la délivrance du pāśa (lien).
