śivārcanarataḥ śrīmān sa me pāpaṃ vyapohatu trailokyanamitā devī solkākārā purātanī
Suta Goswami (narrating the puranic teaching to the sages at Naimisharanya)
It frames Śivārcana (Linga/Śiva worship) as a direct means of pāpa-kṣaya—removing impurity and restoring auspiciousness—supported by Śiva’s grace and Śakti’s purifying power.
Śiva-tattva is implied as the supreme purifying Pati whose worship dissolves pāpa and loosens pāśa (bondage) for the pashu (individual soul), leading the devotee toward clarity and liberation.
Śivārcana—regular devotional worship (pujā) of Śiva/Linga with a prayerful intention for purification; it aligns with Pāśupata orientation where disciplined worship and surrender weaken bonds of impurity.
