Adhyaya 8: Yogasthanas, Ashtanga Yoga, Pranayama-Siddhi, and Shiva-Dhyana leading to Samadhi
प्राणः स्वदेहजो वायुर् यमस्तस्य निरोधनम् त्रिधा द्विजैर्यमः प्रोक्तो मन्दो मध्योत्तमस् तथा
prāṇaḥ svadehajo vāyur yamastasya nirodhanam tridhā dvijairyamaḥ prokto mando madhyottamas tathā
Prāṇa est le souffle vital né dans son propre corps ; yama est la retenue de ce prāṇa. Les dvija ont enseigné ce yama comme triple—doux, moyen et suprême—selon la capacité de l’aspirant dans la discipline du yoga.
