Adhyaya 27
सेचयेदर्चनस्थानं गन्धचन्दनवारिणा द्रव्याणि शोधयेत्पश्चात् क्षालनप्रोक्षणादिभिः
secayedarcanasthānaṃ gandhacandanavāriṇā dravyāṇi śodhayetpaścāt kṣālanaprokṣaṇādibhiḥ
Qu’on humecte le lieu d’adoration avec de l’eau imprégnée de parfum et de santal; puis qu’on purifie les objets rituels par le lavage, l’aspersion et les autres actes prescrits, afin que le culte du Pati (Śiva) s’accomplisse dans la pureté extérieure et intérieure, relâchant les liens (pāśa) du paśu (l’âme liée).

It establishes pūrva-śauca (preliminary purification): sanctifying the worship-space and cleansing the offerings so the Linga-pūjā is ritually fit and spiritually focused.
Śiva is approached as Pati—the supreme Lord—whose worship requires purity of environment and intention, helping the pashu move away from pāśa through disciplined observance.
Ritual shauca: sprinkling with scented sandalwater and purifying articles by washing and prokṣaṇa—foundational disciplines that support Pāśupata-oriented Shiva worship.
