Diti’s Puṁsavana Vow, Indra’s Intervention, and the Birth of the Maruts
एवं स्त्रिया जडीभूतो विद्वानपि मनोज्ञया । बाढमित्याह विवशो न तच्चित्रं हि योषिति ॥ २९ ॥
evaṁ striyā jaḍībhūto vidvān api manojñayā bāḍham ity āha vivaśo na tac citraṁ hi yoṣiti
Bien que Kaśyapa Muni fût un érudit savant, il fut captivé par le comportement artificiel de Diti, ce qui le mit sous son contrôle. Par conséquent, il assura à sa femme qu'il comblerait ses désirs. Une telle promesse de la part d'un mari n'est pas du tout étonnante.
