Veṇu-gīta-āhvāna and the Gopīs’ Appeal: The Opening of Rāsa-līlā
दुहन्त्योऽभिययु: काश्चिद् दोहं हित्वा समुत्सुका: । पयोऽधिश्रित्य संयावमनुद्वास्यापरा ययु: ॥ ५ ॥
duhantyo ’bhiyayuḥ kāścid dohaṁ hitvā samutsukāḥ payo ’dhiśritya saṁyāvam anudvāsyāparā yayuḥ
Certaines gopīs étaient en train de traire les vaches; en entendant la flûte de Kṛṣṇa, impatientes, elles laissèrent la traite et partirent. D’autres laissèrent le lait cailler sur le feu, et d’autres encore abandonnèrent des gâteaux qui brûlaient au four, puis coururent à sa rencontre.
