एवं शप्त: स्वगुरुणा सत्यान्न चलितो महान् । वामनाय ददावेनामर्चित्वोदकपूर्वकम् ॥ १६ ॥

Transliteration

evaṁ śaptaḥ sva-guruṇā satyān na calito mahān vāmanāya dadāv enām arcitvodaka-pūrvakam

Translation

Bien qu’ainsi maudit par son propre maître, le grand Bali Mahārāja ne dévia pas de sa résolution fondée sur la vérité. Selon l’usage, il adora d’abord Vāmanadeva en offrant de l’eau, puis remit le don de terre qu’il avait promis.
