Sukta 4

अपूपवान् क्षीरवांश्चरुरेह सीदतु । लोककृतः पथिकृतो यजामहे ये देवानां हुतभागा इह स्थ

apūpavā́n kṣīravā́ṁś carúr eha sī́datu | lokakŕ̥taḥ pathikŕ̥to yajāmahe yé devā́nāṁ hutabhā́gā ihá stha ||

Let the cooked oblation, furnished with cake and rich in milk, sit down here. We sacrifice unto the World-makers, the Path-makers—those who, of the Gods, possess a share in the offered gift—be ye here present.

Qu’ici s’assoie l’offrande cuite (caru), pourvue de gâteau (apūpa) et riche de lait. Nous sacrifions aux Façonneurs du monde, aux Façonneurs du chemin — à ceux qui, parmi les dieux, ont part à l’offrande versée : soyez ici présents.
