Sukta 3
इमा नारीरविधवाः सुपत्नीराञ्जनेन सर्पिषा सं स्पृशन्ताम्। अनश्रवो अनमीवाः सुरत्ना आ रोहन्तु जनयो योनिमग्रे
imā́ nā́rīr avidhávāḥ supátnīr ā́ñjanena sarpíṣā sáṃ spṛśantām | anaśrávo anamī́vāḥ surátnā ā́ róhantu jánayo yónim ágre ||
Let these women, unwidowed, good wives, with collyrium and with ghee make full anointing-touch. Of stainless fame, free from disease, rich in fair treasure, let the mothers mount the womb, in the foremost place.
Que ces femmes — non veuves, bonnes épouses — avec l’añjana (collyre) et le sarpis (beurre clarifié) accomplissent le plein toucher d’onction. D’une renommée sans tache, sans maladie, riches de beau trésor, que les mères montent dans le sein, à la place la plus en avant.
