Sukta 3
úcchvañcasva pṛthivi mā́ ní bādhathāḥ sūpāyanā́smái bhava sūpasarpáṇā | mātā́ putráṁ yáthā sicā́bhy ènaṁ bhūme ūrṇúhi ||
Lift thee, O Earth; press him not down, nor harm. Be easy of access for him, easy to be approached. As a mother with her garment-fold covers her son, so, O Soil, enfold this man.
Rishi: As in the surrounding Bhūmi/Vāstu complex (late Atharvanic attribution varies).
Devata: Bhūmi/Pṛthivī as maternal guardian
Chandas: Mixed late-Vedic cadence; likely Triṣṭubh influence (confirm by metrical count).
{"primary_rasa":"shanta","secondary_rasa":"karuna","emotional_arc":"From fear of harm/pressure to maternal reassurance and safety.","listener_experience":"A felt ‘soft cover’ around the body; relief and calm.","intensity":5}
