Sukta 4
वशा माता राजन्यऽस्य तथा संभूतमग्रशः । तस्या आहुरनर्पणं यद् ब्रह्मभ्यः प्रदीयते
vaśā́ mātā́ rājanyàsya táthā sámbhūtam agraśáḥ | tásyā āhúr ánarpaṇam yád bráhmabhyaḥ pradīyáte ||
The Vashā is the mother of the Rājanya; thus was it generated from the first beginning. Of her, they say, the gift is not to be reclaimed—when she is bestowed upon the Brahmans.
La Vaśā est la mère du Rājanya ; ainsi fut-elle engendrée dès l’origine première. D’elle, on dit que le don n’est pas à reprendre, lorsqu’on l’offre aux Brahmanes.
