Ayurvedic therapeutics: it prescribes karṇa-pūraṇa (ear instillation/filling) using oil or goat’s urine as a practical remedy to relieve earache (karṇaśūla).
Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves applied medical know-how (Ayurveda), giving concrete clinical procedures (ear instillation) and substances used for specific ailments.
The verse primarily functions as pragmatic healing guidance; in the Purāṇic frame, alleviating suffering through dharmic, text-sanctioned remedies is itself a meritorious act aligned with compassion and welfare.
