Proclamation of the Solar Dynasty
इत्यग्नेये महपुरणे दानादिमाहत्म्यं नामैक सप्तत्यधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः अथ द्विसप्तत्यधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः सूर्यवंशकीर्तनं अग्निर् उवाच सूर्यवंशं सोमवंशं रज्ञां वंशं वदमि ते हरेर्ब्रह्मा पद्मगो ऽभून्मरीचिर्ब्रह्मणः सुतः
ityagneye mahapuraṇe dānādimāhatmyaṃ nāmaika saptatyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ atha dvisaptatyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ sūryavaṃśakīrtanaṃ agnir uvāca sūryavaṃśaṃ somavaṃśaṃ rajñāṃ vaṃśaṃ vadami te harerbrahmā padmago 'bhūnmarīcirbrahmaṇaḥ sutaḥ
Ainsi, dans l’Agni Mahāpurāṇa s’achève le chapitre deux cent soixante et onze, intitulé « La grandeur des dons et des actes connexes ». Commence maintenant le chapitre deux cent soixante et douze, « Proclamation de la dynastie solaire ». Agni dit : « Je te déclarerai la lignée de la dynastie solaire, de la dynastie lunaire et les généalogies royales. De Hari naquit Brahmā, le né du lotus ; et Marīci fut le fils de Brahmā. »
