Adhivāsana-vidhi
Procedure for Preliminary Consecration in Vāstu–Pratiṣṭhā / Īśāna-kalpa
Lord Agni (in instruction to sage Vasiṣṭha, as per the common Agni Purāṇa narration frame)

Related Themes: Agni Purana 96 (śuddhi-dravya usage; praṇava in pūjā)
It prescribes a śuddhi (purification) procedure combining mantra-practice (mental japa in the heart or recitation of Oṃ) with classical purifying agents—clay, cow-dung, cow-urine, ash—and water for internal/inner cleansing.
It exemplifies the Agni Purāṇa’s practical ritual handbook style: alongside theology it preserves applied instructions on purity, sanctioned substances, and mantra-application—topics central to domestic worship, temple procedure, and expiatory practice.
The instruction links purity to both substance and intention: external purifiers (earth, cow-products, ash, water) are completed by mantra (Oṃ) and inner recollection, aiming to remove impurity (aśauca/mala) and restore ritual fitness (adhikāra) for worship.
