Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Lakṣmī-avataraṇa: śāstra-measured auspicious rite for sarva-kāma-siddhi","lookup_keywords":["Lakṣmī-avataraṇa","sarva-kāma-siddhi","śāstra-krama","māna (measure)","śubha-kriyā"],"quick_summary":"Follow the authoritative śāstra-rule regarding the permitted fractional measures (from one-third up to one-half, etc.) and duly perform the raising/bringing-up step; the rite is intended for success in all desired aims."}
Concept: Siddhi arises from niyama (regulated measure) and śāstra-śraddhā in ritual action
Application: When performing prosperity rites, keep measurements and sequence exact; treat ‘māna’ as a spiritual-technical control for efficacy.

Sandhi Resolution Notes: Verse contains manuscript variant notes (ख/ग/घ/छ/ज/ड) and alternative readings (e.g., शास्त्रकर्मणेति, शास्त्रवर्मणेति, समुत्किरेत्). Only the main meaningful padas of the concluding line are analyzed; variant apparatus words are omitted as non-verse content.
Related Themes: Agni Purana 96 (Lakṣmī-related marking/installation and māna rules)
It specifies permissible proportional ranges (from one-third up to one-half, including smaller fractional allowances) and emphasizes that the action must follow śāstric procedure in performing the Lakṣmī-avataraṇa prosperity rite.
It preserves practical, rule-based ritual guidance—fractional measurements, procedural correctness, and the stated ritual objective—showing the Agni Purāṇa’s compendium style that blends devotion with technical instruction.
By performing the auspicious Lakṣmī-avataraṇa strictly according to śāstra, the practitioner is said to gain sarvakāma-prasiddhi—successful fruition of desired aims—through a ritually sanctioned act of invoking prosperity.
