Related Themes: Agni Purana 93 (Carakī-ādi worship and bali substances)
It prescribes specific bali (appeasement offerings)—meat with ghee, curd in a lotus vessel, and measured portions of bile and blood—to pacify particular female grahas (Carakī, Vidārī, Pūtanā) associated with harmful afflictions.
Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves applied healing knowledge (Bhūta-vidyā) that blends ritual procedure, materia (animal products), and targeted entity-specific protocols—showing its wide coverage of practical “ritual medicine.”
The instruction frames protection and relief from affliction as arising from correctly performed pacificatory rites (śānti/bali), emphasizing dharmic order through disciplined ritual action to neutralize harmful influences.
