It gives a practical cleansing protocol (nirmañchana): wash/clean using mustard–curd–water preparations, followed sequentially by alkaline water (kṣāroda), accompanied by specific mantras (hṛd and Vidyeśa-Śambara).
It blends applied therapeutic technique (substances and sequence of cleansing) with mantra-technology, showing how the Agni Purana compiles both Ayurveda-like procedures and ritual/mantric praxis in one compendium.
The procedure is framed as purification: bodily cleansing is reinforced by mantra, implying both physical removal of impurity and ritual sanctification, supporting auspiciousness and reduction of defilement (doṣa/āśauca) in practice.
