Adhyāya 88 — निर्वाणदीक्षाकथनं
Teaching of the Nirvāṇa-Initiation
Lord Agni (in instruction to sage Vasiṣṭha, as the primary Agni Purana dialogue frame)
Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Yoga-Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Subtle-body meditation: concentrate on bindu (point-focus) and contemplate prāṇa-saṃyoga through a structured seven-stage progression for deepening absorption.","sutra_style":true}

Concept: Ekāgratā via bindu as an ālambana; disciplined krama (staged method) transforms prāṇa-awareness into stable contemplative realization.
Application: Use bindu visualization (at heart/crown or chosen locus) to refine attention; follow a consistent seven-step internal protocol (as taught by one’s tradition) rather than improvising, ensuring gradual deepening.
Khanda Section: Yoga & Tantra (Dhyana, Prana-samyoga, Subtle-body contemplation)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A meditator visualizing a tiny radiant bindu, with a subtle seven-step ladder/spiral of inner stages indicated around the body’s central channel, beginning at prāṇa-saṃyoga.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, central yogin with a bright bindu at chosen locus, seven stylized petals/steps encircling as a progression, bold colors and sacred geometry motifs.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore, gold-embossed bindu like a jewel, seven concentric rings/steps in gold around it, serene yogin, rich ornamentation and devotional framing.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore, instructional composition: bindu shown clearly, seven numbered stages along suṣumnā-like axis, fine linework and soft washes, clarity over ornament.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, contemplative yogin in a garden pavilion, a tiny luminous point hovering, faint sevenfold arc motif in the air, delicate detailing and subdued tones."}
Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"contemplative","suggested_raga":"Darbari Kanada","pace":"slow","voice_tone":"contemplative"}
Sandhi Resolution Notes: vinduvad = bindu-vat (final -t → -d before voiced consonant); prāṇasaṃyogasvarūpamaparantataḥ → prāṇa-saṃyoga-svarūpam + aparam + antataḥ.
Related Themes: Agni Purana 88 (prāṇa discipline and dhyāna krama context)
It teaches a yogic/tantric dhyāna method: concentrate the mind on a bindu (point-focus) and contemplate prāṇa-saṃyoga in a structured seven-stage progression.
Alongside ritual, law, and other sciences, the Agni Purana also preserves practical yogic technology—here, a stepwise meditation protocol (krama) centered on bindu-focus and prāṇa integration.
By stabilizing attention (bindu-dhyāna) and integrating prāṇa in ordered stages, the practitioner cultivates inner purification, mental steadiness, and readiness for deeper realization.
