Adhyāya 88 — निर्वाणदीक्षाकथनं
Teaching of the Nirvāṇa-Initiation

Après avoir invoqué Sadāśiva dans le cœur, et après avoir accompli le culte ainsi que les libations (tarpana) selon la procédure énoncée plus haut, on doit alors procéder à la remise (samarpana) de l’autorité rituelle (adhikāra).

Related Themes: Agni Purana 88 (pūjā-vidhi sequence: earlier procedure referenced as pūrvokta-vidhi); Agni Purana 88.22 (mantra for binding to Sadāśiva)
It teaches the sequence of Śaiva worship: internal invocation of Sadāśiva (hṛd-āvāhana), followed by pūjā and tarpaṇa as previously prescribed, culminating in adhikāra-samarpaṇa—formal authorization/handing-over of ritual competence within the rite.
By codifying a precise, stepwise ritual protocol (internal invocation, worship, libations, and authorization), it exemplifies the Agni Purāṇa’s manual-like coverage of practical religious procedures alongside its many other domains (law, polity, medicine, arts).
The heart-invocation centers devotion internally, while pūjā and tarpaṇa complete the offering-cycle; adhikāra-samarpaṇa then regularizes the rite by ensuring it is performed under proper sanctified authority, supporting purity (śuddhi) and efficacy (siddhi) of worship.
