Procedure for Purifying Mantra-Vidyā

Concept: Rites require proper saṃhāra (ritual closure): invited beings are respectfully dismissed, and a ‘complete’ offering (pūrṇā) seals the karmic act to avoid incompleteness (apūrṇatā).
Application: In śrāddha, always include formal visarjana and a concluding oblation; treat completion as an ethical-ritual necessity, not optional ornament.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 86 (ritual nyāsa/visarjana patterns)
It teaches the śrāddha closing sequence: marking with a ritual drop on the head, formally dismissing the invoked Pitṛs, and performing the concluding pūrṇā offering that completes the rite.
By preserving precise, procedural liturgy for ancestral rites—down to the concluding acts—this chapter functions like a ritual manual, illustrating the Agni Purana’s coverage of practical dharma alongside theology and myth.
Proper dismissal of the Pitṛs and the final complete offering are treated as ensuring ritual completeness (saṃpūrṇatā), securing ancestral satisfaction and the performer’s purification and merit (puṇya).
