Chapter 83 — निर्वाणदीक्षाकथनम्
Description of the Nirvāṇa Initiation
Lord Agni (narrating to the sage Vasiṣṭha)
Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Cosmology","secondary_vidya":"Tantra","practical_application":"Use a compact doctrinal map—pairs (two tattvas, two syllables, two guṇas, two mantras; bīja–nāḍī dual teaching) culminating in the single lotus-abiding Lord as causal source—for meditation, teaching, and ritual visualization.","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"List","entry_title":"Dyads (tattva/akṣara/guṇa/mantra) and the lotus-abiding single Īśvara as cause","lookup_keywords":["dve tattve","dve akṣare","dve guṇe","dve mantre","abja-stha īśvara"],"quick_summary":"The verse compresses a tantric-cosmological schema of dyads—principles, syllables, guṇas, mantras, and bīja–nāḍī teaching—resolved into the one lotus-seated Lord as the singular causal ground."}
Concept: Multiplicity is organized as paired categories yet grounded in a single causal Īśvara (ekaṃ kāraṇam) abiding in the lotus (abja).
Application: In contemplation, enumerate dyads to structure attention, then resolve them into the single lotus-centered cause to shift from analytic mapping to unitive realization.
Khanda Section: Agneya-vidya (Tantric mantra-tattva and cosmological principles)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A diagrammatic vision of paired categories (two tattvas, two syllables, two guṇas, two mantras) arranged symmetrically around a central lotus where the single Īśvara shines as the causal source; subtle nāḍī lines connect the pairs to the lotus.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural, central radiant lotus with Īśvara as luminous presence, symmetrical paired emblems around it (two syllables as script, two guṇas as color bands), nāḍī lines as decorative curves, traditional border and flat stylization","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore, large central lotus with gold-embossed Īśvara aura, paired icons in four directions, heavy gold work highlighting the lotus and causal center, rich saturated background","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting, instructional mandala: labeled dyads placed around a central lotus-seat, clean geometry, subtle nāḍī pathways drawn like channels, calm palette suitable for teaching","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, refined cosmological chart on a page held by a sage, central lotus medallion with a tiny luminous Lord, paired motifs in cartouches, fine linework and delicate colors"}

It compresses a mantra-śāstra schema: key dualities—tattvas, syllables, vīja/nāḍī doctrine, guṇas, and paired mantras—are mapped to a single causal Īśvara, guiding mantra practice toward a unified metaphysical source.
It exemplifies how the Agni Purana blends tantric mantra theory, yogic physiology (nāḍīs), and philosophical causality (Īśvara as kāraṇa) in a compact, technical register—typical of its multi-disciplinary, encyclopedic scope.
By directing the practitioner from technical dualities to the one causal Lord, it frames mantra and yogic contemplation as a means of purification and inward integration, aligning practice with the supreme source rather than mere technique.
