FAQs

It teaches a specific homa-dravya (offering substance) protocol: kadamba buds are prescribed for Yakṣiṇī-siddhi, while bandhūka and kiṃśuka (and similar red blossoms) are prescribed for vaśya (subjugation) and ākarṣaṇa (attraction) rites.

It records applied ritual technology—mapping plant materials to desired outcomes in homa—showing the Agni Purana’s catalog-like coverage of practical rites alongside theology, dharma, and other sciences.

The verse frames results-oriented rites as achievable through correctly chosen offerings and procedure; karmically, it implies that efficacy depends on disciplined ritual action, though such vaśyākarṣaṇa aims are traditionally treated as requiring restraint and right intention.
