FAQs

It defines a category of dīkṣā whose practical scope is limited to granting adhikāra for nitya-karmas (daily obligatory rites), and states that dīkṣā is classified as twofold, with each division further having two forms.

By systematizing ritual practice through precise taxonomies (types of dīkṣā, levels of adhikāra, and subtypes), it exemplifies the Agni Purāṇa’s compendious method of organizing technical religious procedures like a manual.

It clarifies that initiatory rites differ in the degree of authorization they bestow; undertaking rites with the appropriate dīkṣā supports correct performance of daily duties and aligns practice with prescribed ritual competence.
