The Rite of Raising/Placing the Pavitra

Lord Agni (as narrator of ritual-yogic procedure, traditionally to sage Vasiṣṭha)
Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Yoga","practical_application":"Inner ritual (antar-yāga): use nāḍī-yoga to unite Śiva with inner fire, perform hṛdaya-nyāsa of agni-saṅghāta, then release the visualization—supporting meditative integration after homa/pūjā.","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Nāḍī-yoga Śiva–Vahni-saṃyoga with Hṛdaya-nyāsa and Visarjana","lookup_keywords":["nadi-yoga","vahni-stha","hridaya-nyasa","agni-sanghata","visarjana"],"quick_summary":"Meditatively join Śiva with the inner fire through nāḍī discipline, place concentrated fire-energy in the heart, then dissolve/release the fire visualization to return to equipoise."}
Concept: Antar-yāga: external agni is mirrored as inner vahni; union (saṃyoga) with Śiva through nāḍī discipline, followed by laya/visarjana to stabilize awareness.
Application: After ritual or meditation, consciously ‘close’ inner practices by dissolving visualizations; use heart-centered placement to integrate energy rather than disperse it.

Sandhi Resolution Notes: संयोजयेछिवे = संयोजयेत् + शिवे (त् + श → छ् लेखन-प्रयोगः/सन्ध्यनुकरणम्); न्यस्याग्निसङ्घातं = न्यस्य + अग्निसङ्घातम्.
Related Themes: Agni Purana 79 (nyāsa/visarjana motifs within pūjā-vidhi)
It teaches a nāḍī-yoga based internal rite: unite Śiva-principle with the inner fire, perform heart-nyāsa of the agni-saṅghāta (condensed fire-energy), and then properly conclude by visarjana (ritual release of the visualization).
Alongside myth and dharma, the Agni Purana preserves applied ritual technology—tantric-yogic methods like nāḍī-yoga, nyāsa, and visarjana—showing it as a compendium of practical spiritual disciplines, not merely narrative theology.
The practice frames purification and inner transformation: installing fire in the heart symbolizes burning impurities, while the final visarjana prevents ritual residue and affirms disciplined completion, supporting mental purity and focused worship.
